Grok Bot makes X search free to use without account linking

SpaceXAI has updated Grok Bot’s X search and monitoring features, removing the need for users to link an X account or set up a connector before the bot can search posts and follow topics. The change lets Grok Bot collect posts directly, track breaking developments, monitor feedback around a product, and compile recurring industry updates. Combined with its existing scheduled task feature, the bot can also check for new posts on a regular basis and return organized results in the chat. Grok Bot had already integrated with X in August, but that version required account linking and relied on the X API to query posts. The latest update shifts that workflow to a built-in tool that can search and read X directly. According to a Grok Bot developer, X queries used to incur a cost. Read-only queries are now free, though they still face rate limits. Actions beyond read access, including posting, still require users to configure an X connector. The company has not disclosed the exact free query quota at this stage.
